Cherry Production around Moissac
Local production harvested by hand
Cherry production is centered in Moissac and the surrounding villages. 280 producers (mainly family holdings) work 620 acres and harvest 2,500 tons per annum.
The trees in the orchard are regularly replaced with new varieties. The farmers practice a sustainable agriculture, respectful of the environment. Fruits are harvested manually when ripe and sold the same day.
Harvest last from 15th of May to 15th of July. Saturday and Sunday mornings you will find the cherries on the outdoor market. They are also found in the greengrocers of northern France, great amateurs of our fruit !
